Getting started

What is Dyno?

Dyno is a club management platform. Clubs use it to run memberships, events, bookings, payments, and member messaging — all in one place. Members get a free mobile app to find their club, pay subscriptions, book sessions, and stay in touch with the rest of the team.

Who is Dyno for?

Sports clubs, fitness studios, hobby groups, and private members' clubs. If you run a community that has paying members or runs events, Dyno was built for you. The product especially fits clubs that have outgrown spreadsheets and group chats but don't want enterprise software complexity.

How do I set up my club?

Three steps:

  1. Sign up at dashboard.dyno-app.com and create your club.
  2. Connect Stripe so you can accept payments — takes about 5 minutes and the dashboard walks you through it.
  3. Add at least one membership plan, then invite your members from the Members page (one at a time, or by uploading a CSV).

Do my members need to download an app?

Yes — members use the free Dyno app on iOS or Android to interact with your club. Invites you send include links to the App Store and Google Play. The club-side dashboard runs in any modern web browser.

Payments & Stripe

Why do I need a Stripe account?

Dyno uses Stripe Connect to process payments. Money flows from your members directly into the Stripe account you connect — Dyno never holds your funds. You'll need a verified Stripe account to take memberships, sell event tickets, or sell passes.

What does it cost?

See the pricing section on our homepage for the current plans. Stripe's own card processing fees apply on top — typically around 1.5% + 20p in the UK for European cards. Stripe publishes its full pricing at stripe.com/pricing.

Can I refund a member?

Yes. From the dashboard, open Finances → Transactions, click the transaction, and use the refund panel. You can issue a full or partial refund. Refunds are pushed back to the member's original payment method and typically clear within 5–10 working days.

Can I cancel a member's subscription?

Yes. From the same transaction screen, you can either cancel immediately or at the end of the current billing period. Cancelling at period end is the polite default — the member keeps access until the date they've paid for.

Members

How do I invite members?

On the Members page, click Send Invite for a single email, or Import CSV to invite up to 500 at once. Anyone who already has a Dyno account gets an in-app notification; everyone else gets an email with a download link.

Can I email all my members at once?

Yes — on the Members page, click Email Members. Type a subject and message and we'll send a single email to every member at the address on file. Replies go back to your club's contact email if you set one in your club settings.

How do I remove a member?

On a member's profile click Remove from club. To remove several at once, tick the checkboxes on the Members table and use the bulk action bar. Removing a member also cancels any active Stripe subscriptions they have with you. Their Dyno account itself is not deleted — they can be re-invited later.

What are Teen accounts?

Members aged 13–15 sign up to a restricted "Teen" account: their profile isn't publicly searchable, they don't see strangers in the global feed, and they can't be DM'd by people outside their clubs. Members under 13 can't create a Dyno account; their parent or guardian should manage things on their behalf. See our Privacy Policy for the full policy.

Data & security

Where is my club's data stored?

Dyno is hosted in the EU/UK on AWS infrastructure. Card details are handled exclusively by Stripe and never touch our servers. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of sub-processors and data flows.

Can I export my data?

Yes. From the dashboard you can export member rosters and transaction history to CSV. If you need a full data export — including waivers, events, and messages — email us at support@dyno-app.com and we'll arrange it.

How do I delete my account?

Members can delete their own accounts in-app under Settings → Account. Club owners who want to close a club should email support@dyno-app.com so we can wind down active subscriptions cleanly before deletion.
